Key themes from the 2008 Summit included:

  • Companies are deepening relationships with nonprofit and governmental partners and establishing multi-year commitments that address solutions to some large-scale social needs. This often involves important developments in program scalability.
  • The corporate sector, with support from CEOs and C-suite executives, is better leveraging employee engagement, such as pro bono service, to create a more sustainable means of supporting communities. This is occurring both nationally and globally.
  • Using innovative models and approaching philanthropy as an integral piece of corporate social responsibility, companies are tackling important issues such as international development, education, and climate change. In doing so, the most efficient business leaders are successfully addressing social needs while strengthening their business strategy.
